Email alias

An email alias is a public address that forwards into an inbox you control, without publishing the mailbox you live in. Cloakmail’s lasting alias is a Cloak: you create it with an account, and it stays until you pause, rotate, or delete it. That is different from temporary email, which expires on a timer.
What an email alias is for
People search for email alias when they want a lasting address per shop, newsletter, airline, or SaaS. If one vendor leaks or starts flooding you, you pause or delete that alias without burning the rest of your mail.
A Cloak is that email alias. It does not expire on a schedule. You can forward only to a destination you verified, rotate the local-part after a leak, or delete the address so nothing else arrives. Free accounts start with a small number of Cloaks; Premium raises ceilings and unlocks readable prefixes when you need them.

Email alias vs temporary email
Temporary email (temporary mail / disposable address) is for codes and one-off forms. An email alias is for relationships that will send mail next week: receipts, bookings, community logins.
Cloakmail names both jobs. Glint is temporary email with no account. Cloak is the lasting email alias. Start with a Glint on the homepage; keep a Cloak when the address has earned a place.

Honest limits
Do not use an email alias as your bank login, government identity, or sole recovery path for something you cannot afford to lose. A deleted Cloak will not come back. Cloakmail is not a full end-to-end encrypted mailbox; it decrypts mail when you open it in the product.
